PUKEKURA PARK.
MEETING OP THE BOARD. The Pukekura Park Board juet last night. Present: Mrs. BUrgeas, Measru. W. A. Collis; W. C. Weston, R ; 0. Hughes, H. Ford, A. S. Brooker, and P. £. Stainton (secretary). A letter was received from the Park Tennis Club, asking permission to extend the courts for the coming season.— The action of the chairman in granting permission was confirmed'. The chair* man and secretary were deputed to meat the club and come to an arrangement in regard to terms, , The curator's report for May stated that owing to the rough weather most of the-work of the month had been confined to clearing up the damage caused bv the weather. Mention was maos or tht tact thit the Borough representatives of tho Board had been very irregular in their attendance at meetings, and it waif decided td write to the Borough Council that, on W l . count of the increased work of tM Board, the Council should appoint its representatives from outside the Council, if councillors could, not attend mo£e regularly. The practice of appointing an overseer monthly Ims been abandoned, and & permanent grounds .committee, consisting of Mrs. Burgess, Messrs, Collis, Weston and Stainton, was appointed to carry out .this work.' . Reference was made to .the increased duties of members of the Board and the increased revenue that had to be : ffciaed, which necessitates greater activity tin th* part of each member of the .Board in insisting to provide the necessary pupport for the Park. Mrs. Burgess kindly placed W room In, Devon Street at the disposal 1 of' the Board for future meeting.
