Received June 1, 7.30 p.m. London, Mav 31. At the National Sporting Clul>, In "the featherweight championship of Europe, Wyans a Belgian, defeated Miko Houeyman in the tenth round. Honeyman had the best of tho light in the early stages, but a hefty left to the jaw sent him down Pvp. times in the tenth round and the referee stopped the fight. In the bantam championship of Europe Lcdoux knocked out .Uin Higglns in the eleventh round. There was considerable infighting in the early rounds, Higglns leading on points. Ledotix was the aggressor after the eighth round, and hard fighting ended In Ledoux winning with a right swine to the point.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable i TARAtiAKI ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the committee of the Taranakl Boxing Association was held last night, Mr. E. Whittle presiding over a full attendance. A number of new memlters were elected. The balance-sheet of the recent tournament showed a credit of £IOO. This was considered very creditable, and It was resolved to contribute £2 2s each to the expenses of outside amateurs who tool; part. Special reference was made to the work of the secretary. Mr. E. Clarke, in connection with the formation and registration of the Association, jind it was resolved to accord him a hearty vote of thanks. Similar camplimentfi were paid to Mr. G. J£. Saunders, whose experience as organiser was placed tin-! reservedly at the disposal of the committee, i and tended largely to tho success of the tour-1 nnmcnt, also to Mr. Gallagher, who was responsible for the erection of the rhig fi' 111 '. applied for the use of the Association's large room for training purposes on two evenings a week. Hie chairman's offer to donate sufficient mate.rial to provide a mat, was accepted with thanks and the chairman, Messrs. Saunders, lUallagher, and Richardson were appointed a committee with full power to act to provide the necessary ring appointments. It was resolved to thank Colonel Weston, Messrs. E. Whittle, E. Jackson, P. .T. Flanagan, V' Emeny, and McLend and Slade for donation of medals for the amateur bouts; also to the Hawera Sports and Pastimes Club for the use of their matting and appointments and to the Press.
