POST OFFICE ROBBERY.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, May 31. In connection with the robbery at Runciman post office, Arthur Whitburn, aged 17, states that he locked the office at 5.30 p.m. and was riding' home on a bicycle when a masked man bailed him up, producing n revolver, and demar«led the keys of the post office. The lad gave up hiti keys and his bicycle and raised an alarm, but when neighbors reached the post ollice they found the cash-box broken open and no sign of the thief. Next, morning the stolen bicycle was found in the govse at Papakura, and a stolen cheque was found on Takanini road yesterday. The booty comprised .€3O in cash and £37 iii cheques.

Wellington, May 31. It is understood that everything is now in readiness for the demands of the Engine-drivers, Firemen, and Cleaners Association to be heard by a special tribunal set np as a result of the strike. The tribunal will probably open its sittings on Wednesday jnomiDg.
