At Stratford, on Tuesday, cattle came forward well and a fair sale resulted. Lambs: Young stock was in better demand than at late sales. The dairy herd came up for sale in good order, showing quality and condition. Bidding opened slowly, but soon became more brisk, and we report a most satisfactory sale. The dairy herd of r>o cows averaged £2O, the furniture and implements were well displayed and brought. 1 full value. We compliment Messrs. Hemvood and Handley for convenient arrangements lu the disposal of Implements, etc., and handling of the stock in the ring. On Wednesday we sold Mr. Duncan Spiers' herd nt Kapunl, and this herd also averaged over £2O. The cows were in good condition and bidding was well maintained throughout. Implements and farm sundries brought value. At Lowgarth on Thursday, a record crowd attended Mr. Ben. Booker's clearing sale of pedigree and grade cows Buyers were in attendance from some distance, and bidding on each lot was keen. The pedigree cows averaged 35 guineas, Mr. Astbury getting tho top-priced cow at 62 guineas. Tho grades average £22 12s. Mr. Booker's horses sold well. Three-quarter draught mare £SO, ditto £43, gelding £24 10s. Implements and sundries sold well. At Rawhitiroa, on Friday, we offered Mr. Browning's herd. There was a good attendance of buyers, and we Teport a satisfactory y.e. The dairy cows averaged over £l7.
