Cliolmeley was hostess at a most enjoyable party for Miss Blakiston, last Wednesday evening. Mrs. Fox entertained a number of young people at a jolly little dance at her residence on Friday night. j VICTORIA LEAGUE. The first social gathering of the Victoria League took the form of an afternoon tea at the ICia Ora Tea Rooms on Thursday, and was organised by the president and members of the League to bid farewell to Archdeacon and Mrs. Evans, who are leaving New Plymouth to reside in Auckland for some months. Mrs. Burgess, as president, presented Archdeacon Evans (on behalf of the members), with a brown suede travelling cushion, as a slight token of their appreciation of his services to the League as vice-president. Mrs. Evans was also presented with a charming bouquet. The rooms were tastefully decorated in autumn shades, and a most delightful tea was handed round. Mrs. Burges3 wore a floral nison frock over navy crepe de chine and a pretty eaxe blue hat; Mrs. Evans wore grey crepe de chine and grey hat. Otters present were: Mrs. J. Clarke, Mrs. E. A.
