DOMINION RUGBY UNION. THE ANNUAL*, MEETING. MR. J. McLEOD PRESIDENT. By Teleeraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Laat Night. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union to-night, on behalf of Marlborough, Mr. L. Sievers moved: — "That the New Zealand Rugby Union arrange a national scheme of insurance for injured players." The proposal received the endorsement of several speakers, but it was decided to forward the motion :o the management committee for the purpose of drawing up a detailed! report of the scheme involved, to be circulated among unions for consideration before being adopted. Captain T. H. Jones, for the management committee, proposed that the committee be empowered to add to its numbers one active member of the New Zealand Referees' Association. Mr. Sievers seconded the motion, which was defeated. It was decided that the school grant for 1920 be increased to £3OO. Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral; President, Mr. J. McLeod (Taranaki); Vice-Presidents, the Presidents of affiliated unions; hon. treasurer, Captain T. H. Jones; management committee, Messrs. S. S. Dean (Auckland), G. Howe (Canterbury), R. T. Bailey (Hawke's Bay), H. Patton (Southland), J. T. M, Piki (Canterbury), A. C. Kitto (Southland), and G. W. The Nelson Union wrote supporting the application, which was granted. A proviso was attached that the name of the new union would have to be approved by the New Zealand Rugby Union's management committee. Permission was given for the affiliation of the Whangarei Rugby Union. An application for the affiliation of a Main Trunk Union, with headquarters at Taihape, was referred back for consideration by the various sub-unions concerned.

Mr. Wylie moved: "That the management committee be directed to inquire as to whether any union is playing under rules which have not been approved by this union." Mr. Wylie said he was not animated by any feeling of personal animosity, but they all knew that certain tilings were going on, and it wis for the management committee to take action if the rules were being infringed. Mr. N. R. Jones denied that the Auckland Union was playing any unauthorised rules. The motion was carried. It was decided to leave the venue for the North v. South Island match in the hands of the management committee. It was resolved to direct the management committee to accept a tour from South Africa next year-
