GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL.
MINISTER APPROVES ADDITION At GRANT. The chairman of the Board of Governors of tho New Plymouth High Schools (Mr. L. C. Sladden) was advised by telegram yesterday morning that the Minister of Education had &p> proved of an additional grant of £6U2 towards additions and alterations for the purpose of providing more accommodation at the Girls' High School. Tha plan submitted to tho Department, and which was brought under the Minister's notice while here, provided for the ■extension of the present Assembly Hall by adding another 20ft to the room, and also for providing a proper room for the staff, thereby releasing the room at present occupied for that purpose for use as cloak room accommodation. The amount asked for by the Board was th< difference between the giant authorised and the amount of the lowest tondtir received for the work.
