COTTON GROWING.

THE QUEENSLAND SCHEME. By Telegraph.—Pros Ann.—Copyrlcht. Received May 27, 7.46 p.m. London, May 28. It is understood the cotton growing proposal for Queensland was made during a visit of Mr. J. Hunter (High Commissioner for Queensland) to Manchester. Mr. Hunter is going out for two years, as hia experience was on such a small scale as not'to justify Queensland in embarking on the project. The negotiations are still proceeding, and further interviews are probable, in which Mr. Hunter will urge Manchester traders to accept deeper responsibility for ihe experiment. —Aus.-N.Z.
