STRATFORD (6) V. ELTHAM .(4). Playing at Stratford yesterday, the home team defeated Eltham by 0 goals to 4, L. Read (2). Evetts, Manners, Hart, and Nelll scoring for Stratford. Mr. Rend was referee. MEETING OF TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the executlvo of the above was held at Hawera on Monday. The following delegates were present: W. Stephens, H. Kiipatrick (Inglewood), F. Elgnr, W Harris (Stratford), T. Chatterton, ?. Primmer (Eltham), S. .1. Catran. H. Young (Hawera Rivals), C. ,T. McFadgen, and C. E. Morrissey, secretary (Old Boys, Hawera), F rriest and F. Nlchol (Kaponea), Harris and W. Shepherd (referees). Mr. Tlios. Taylor occupied the chair.
The application for affiliation from Manaia Club was granted. Tho motion passed at the annual meeting, that ■ one division be made In which teams were to play, was rescinded. It was then passed that Wednesday and Thursday divisions be formed, consisting of: Wednesttay— Manaia (one teauni). Old Bovs, Hawera (one team), Hawera Rivals (two teams). Thursday—lnglewood, Stratford, Eltham, and Kaponga, all one team each.
On behalf of the Hawera Rivals' Club Mr. Catran nominated a B team for the Wednesday fixtures. This was accepted. It was proposed that last week's matches should not count. In the new fixtures. On a show of hands this was lost, but It was stated that the new teams entering the Wednesday fixtures would, by finishing a week later, play tho same number of matches as the other teams.
The following were elected a sub-committee with power to act to determine the ground and date for the match between the winners of the Wednesday and Thursday divisions: Messrs, Me.Fadeen, Priest, and Young It was decided that Mr. W. Sheipherd referee this match.
The following were elected sub-committees to draw up the fixtures: Wednesday division —Messrs. Catran. McFadgen and Young. Thursday division—Messrs. Primmer, Stephens and Pnost.
Tho proposed rules drawn up by tho subcommittee wero confirmed with the following alteration: That in the representative matches, the players would wear white short pants and not black.
In accordance with the Tules, a permit committee, consisting o£ three members of the executive, was set up. The following members were elected: Messrs. McFadgen ShoDherd and Priest. The secretary was Instructed to have-ISO booklet conies of Hie rules printed and use his own discretion as regards the cost. He was further Instructed to have forms printed for use of captains of clubs. The forms ore for tho following use: Thev will have blank spaces wherein the captain of each team will fill in the names of the players of his team and hand same to the referee before the commencement of a match. After the match the refereo will fill in the result and sign the forms, when he will hand same to the secretary of the Tnrannkl Association Delegates from Stratford, Kaponga, and Inglewood clubs Intimated that thev would enter teams for the junior fixtures. AfteT a little discussion it was decided not to hold junior grade fixtures until next year, but. in the meantime, junior teams could play friendly Karnes. Mr. \V. Harris kindly consented to give a silver cup to be played for by the juniors Ho said he would lUco the juniors to play for It this year, even If only In friendly games; also, that the cup would revert to the coutvol of the association nelxt year, when he hoped that junior grade fixtures would be commenced. A unanimous vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Harris' for his generous donation. All delegates present stated that they would do tIKM best to sot junior grade fixtures going next year, because, in time they would have to choose their seniors from the abovementioned class of players. A letter from the Stratford Club protesting against the referee's decision - in. their match played against Inglowood at Tnglewood last veek, was read. After a very lengthv discussion on the point raised, and which proved highly technical. It wan decided not to Intwfera with ths referee's decision,—flta*.
