SCHOOL BUILDINGS.

CLASSED AS ESSENTIAL WORK. PRECEDENCE OVER OTHER SCHEMES. {.From Our Special Reporter.) Hawora, Last Night. The Hon. C. J. Parr, Minister of "Education, told a Daily News reporter, in the course of an interview to-day, that all new schools and school buildings were placed in the first grade of essential buildings and would take precedence over less urgent and important work. Regarding supplies of cement, he said steps would be taken to see that cement was available. "The difficulty seems to be," he added, "that boards "cannot let the contracts for the work owing to the great increase in the cost of building material, but the Department will assist the boards as far as it is able to do so."
