G. A reply has now been received from the Hon. D. H. Guthrie (Minister in charge of the settlement or ev-soldiers) stating' that an Order-in-Council wag made last week authorising a rebate being allowed to discharged soldiers to the amount of ten per cent, on the interest portion of the men's instalments, due on transactions under Section '2 of the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act. Amendments to the regulations includmg provision for this concession are now being made.
