PINNACLE REACHED.
CHEAPER PRICES EXPECTED. Vancouver, April 55. A message from New York states that commercial writers are having a busy time explaining last week's Wall Street break. The general opinion appears to be that, while the break was unexpected and severe, it should not be interpreted as the forerunner of financial depression.
The editor of the Commercial states that it indicates that a process of deflation is beginning. Unless, there is an unthought of stampede, conditions will gradually right themselves. Several writers agree that the costs of living have probably reached a peak; pointing out the success of the movement against rent profiteers and the socalled "overall" strike.
Leading articles admit that in recuperation from the effects of the war England easily holds first place. They expect that the sterling will he at par within six months. Persons who talk of panic have been misled by those with ulterior motives.
