HOCKEY.
INGLEWOOD (4) v. STRATFORD (3). At lnglewoml on Thursday, tUe Stratford players met tho home team, the match l'emiltlng ill favor of the latter by 4 goals to 3. The goals for the visitors were secured by I. Read, Hn.v, and Chadwick. It is understood a protest is being lodKed on the ground that one of the coals for the winners was secured while the Stratford goalkeeper had left the net to attend to an injured Inglewood player who was lying on the ground, and that because of this the game should have been temporarily stopped by the referee.
The annual ladles' hockey tournament will, it is understood, bo held in New Plymouth on June 3rd. The cup which was presented for competition some years a-jo having been won outright, Mr. ,T. S. Catram, of I Hawera, a keen enthusiast, has generously ft cus for eoapetttloo.
