The annual installation ceremony ot Mount Egmont Lodge was held at the Lodge room, Robe. Street; last; evening, in the presence of a gathering of thj Brotherhood from Taranaki. Wor. Bro. Roy L. Parker occupied the chair of King Solomon, and received the visitor* and performed the beautiful ceremony of installing Bro. David Ritchie as Wor. Master of the Lodge. The Grand Lodge of Ireland was represented by Rt, Wor. Bro. A. Goldwater.
Apologies were received from a largo number of worshipful brethren for their absence through sickness and othfr causes. The De Burgh Adams Lodge, Xgamotu Lodge, and Sir Donald McLean Lodge were well represented, and members were present from btlier Taranaki Lodges. Bro. Rev. .1. F. Martin con* veyed hearty good wishes from Lodge Southern Gross, Amborley, and Wor. Bro. Blakeley from Lodge St. John's, E'r tliarn; Bro. Taylor, Moa Lodge, Inglewood"; Bro. MeFavln.no, Lodge Feilding; Wor. Bro. A. L. Moore, Lodge ThistJ.;, Ashburton; Bro. ,Courtney, Lodge Fullerton No. 339, California.
Wor. Bro. Percy ,1. H.- White acted fts Director of Ceremonies, whilst the initsi' cal portion of the ceremony was' in the hands of Wor. Bro. William Perry torganist), and Bro. McLeod (trum'peter). The Worshipful Master invested his,officers for the ensuing year as follows: 1.P.M., Wor. Bro. R. *L. Parkin; S.W, Bro. W. F. Keating; J.W., Bro. A. G. Mason; treasurer, Wor. Bvo. E. Chatterton, P.D.G.C.; chaplain, Bro. J. D. Cambell; secretary, Wor. Bro. F. C. J. Bellringer, P.D.G.D.C.; Director oj Ceremonies, Wor. Bro, P. J. H. White, P.DG.J.W.; organist, Wor. Bro. W M. Perry, P.D.G.0.; S.D., Bro. E. Turner; J.D., Bro. W. Jones; 1.6., Bro. C. F. A. Waters; S.S., Bro. M. J. I. Armstrong; J.S., Bros. H. L. Northern, R. F. Baird and, A. W. Morrison; Tyler, Wor, Bro. A. Case.
The . usual addresses were given bj Wor. Bro. H. J. M. Wells, Wor. Bro. W M. Perry, Wor. Bro. E, Chatterton, and Wor.. Bro. K. B. Bain, and. the working tools were presented by Wor. Bros, A. Kllis, Fred. C. J. Bellringer, and H. V. S. Griffiths.
At the conclusion of the ceremony,- an adjournment was made to the supperroom, where Bro. Wooller had prepared an excellent repast. After full justice had been done to the good things provided, a toast list was discussed, and musical and elocutionary items givsn bv Bros. Frederick, Smith, Linn and Northern. •
