Masters, MP. and Mrs. Masters at-the Town Hall, next Tuesday was to take the form of a dinner. This is not the case. The first part of the evening will be devoted to speeches and musical items, and some, of the. most talented artists in Taranaki are being engagedTlie speakers will include a number of Liberal members of Parliament, in addition to the Liberal Leader, the Hon. \V, D. S. Macdonald. Later in the evening a dance will be held for the benefit of the younger people. Everybody will be welcomed at the function, and a thoroughly enjoyable evening is promised.
One of the big events of the year, so far as Stratford is concerned, is the annual concert and dance held under the auspices of the Stratford A. and P. Association, and this year's function, which is to be held at the* Town Hall on Thursday, May 27, promises to be quite up to the high standard of quality attained in previous years. The performers have been engaged from Wanganui, and represent the best talent available in that town- Miss E, Bignell (pianistc), Madame Emily Briggs 'i.soprano), Mrs Ivo Symes (contralto). Mr. T W. Robertson (tenor), and Mr. F. H. Wilkie (humorist), are all entertainers of high reputation, and it is seldom that Stratford hears such talent. As the accommodation at the Town Hall is limited, and there is bound to be a rush for seats, intending patrons are advised to at once book their seats at the secretary's office, Broadway, .Stratford. AfW the concert, supper will be handed round, and a dance will follow, for which Fox's complete orchestra has been engaged. Prices of admission are advertised in this issue.

Fox, whose dunces in Stratford have already gained him wide approbation, lias arranged a grand plain and Fancy dress ball to he held at the Town Hall on Thursday, .lime 3 (Kind's Birthday), when prizes will be awarded for the best dresses. A list of the dates for which Mr. Fox's orchestra is advertised in this issue.
