SIR GEORGE ARMEY'S PORTRAIT.
(To tho Editor.) Sir,—Your Tepcrt of the unveiling at the Supreme Court of the full length portrait of the late Sir George Arney, first Chief Justice of the Colony, Is most Interesting to those of us who llrefl here in the 50's and 60's, and, no doubt, also to others who came to the settlement In later years, but while this gonttein.in's memory was Bt.Ul green. It Is to be hoped that efforts will be made to procure pictures of all other Judges who, In the earlier days, administered justice in Taranaki, so that the younger folk may become in a degree acquainted with this plwso of our local history. May one suggest that arrangements be made for exhibiting Sir George's portrait for a short time in somo more convenient and accessible place than the Courthouse, say at the Carnegie' Institute, or the museum?—-I am, etc., OLD-TIMER.
