AUSTRALIA TO CROW COTTON. QUEENSLAND DEVELOPMENT. By Telegrarh.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received May 19, 10.30 p.m. London, May 18. Mr. Theodore, the Premier of Queensland, told the Australian Press Association that he had no doubt Queensland would now take up the matter of cotton seriously. The present high prices of cotton and'the likelihood of their ruling for a considerable time, justified the experiment, and made cotton picking less dependent on cheap labor than formerly. During his visit to America, Mr. Theodore investigated cotton growing in Californ.'- where the conditions closely approximated those in Queensland- The investigations convinced him it waV. tolerably■■■ certain Queensland would make cotton growing a success. — Aus.-N.Z.
