HEROIC FIGHT BY CARRANZA. By T«tegr*ph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Mexico City, May 17. C&rranza's last stand was a heroic spectacle. Without water or food, outnumbered and surrounded, the Carranzists fought desperately against overwhelming odds, General Murguia and Carranza personally leading the charges by which finally a way was cut for escape to the mountains. The rebels pay a generous tribute to Carranza's heroism- His horse was shot under him, hut he mounted another and continned the battle.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
