PUBLIC NOTICES, THE EDUCATION' BOARD OP THE DISTRICT OF T ARAN Alii. ELECTION OP SCHOOL COMMITTEES. SECOND MEETING OF HOUSEHOLDERS. provided by the 3rd Schedule of the Education Act, 1014, Clause 0, the Board, in pursuance of the powers thereof, hereby directs that a PUBLIC MEETING OF HOUSEHOLDERS be held in each SCHOOL DISTRICT in the Taranaki Education District on MONDAY. 7th June, 1020, at 7.30 o'clock in the evening, for the Election of a School Committee for each District that failed to elect a Committee upon the annual dav of Meeting previously appointed. Where the Yearly Average Attendance at the School or Schools in the •School District, for the year ending December 31, lmn, has not exceeded One Hundred children, the number of Members of the School Committee shall be FIVE; where such attendance is over One Hundred and not over Two Hundred, the number of Members shall be SEVEN; and where such attendance is over Two Hundred, the number of Members slinll be NINE,
The Place of Meeting shall be tli? School in each District, and this .is understood to mean the j\Jain Bchool in any District which has more than one School. The Board further directs that the First Meeting- of each School Committee he held in the place appointed for the Election and immediately after the Election.
The Board further calls upon the Householdprs in each District to SENT) fN to the Chairman of the School Committee (or the Commissioner, as the ease may be), in writing, on or before MONDAY, May Slat, not later than 8 p.m., th:> NAMES OF PKRSONB, being resident householders, NOMINATED by them to serve upon the Committee. Such nominations must I>c signed by the Propowr. and by the 'Candidate, and must be m the form set forth in the Third Schedule to the Act, or to the effect thereof. In addition to such nominations, any householder present at a Meeting in a RURAL AREA may nominate any qualified Candidate who consents by word of mouth or in writing to be so nominated. It is especially notified that in the case of the Eitzroy District, which is in tiie Urban District of New Plymouth, the Act docs NOT provide for the acceptance of verbal nominations.
