MILITARY SPORTS.
GATHERING AT NEW PLYMOUTH. AparL frota military authorities and High School scholars, little interest appeared to be taken by the general public iu tho athletic siKirUs held at the High School grounds yesterday. Those who were present were provided with a good day's sport, although the high and cold southerly breeze made matters unpleasant to spectators and competitors. A lengthy programme was carried out, but each event was despatched with such promptitude that the sports were got off well to time. A popular win waiS that by C. S. Mnhoney In the mile walk, who won from Ills youthful opponents. In the high jump, Sutherland and Boon had a spirited contest, whilst T. Hoffliruum lind a day out in the sprint events.
