COAL IN BRITAIN.
ANOTHER RISE IN PRICEBy Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright, Received May 12, 7.30 p.m. London, May 11. In the House of Commons, Sir Robert Home (President of the Board of Trade) stated the Government thought the removal of control of the distribution of coal as soon as possible was essential, but it was only possible if the artificial dili'ereutiatipn in prices of industrial and household coal was removed.
The Government had decided that both must be sold at a price to cover production and the standard profits allowed by the Emergency Act. Therefore the maximum prices of industrial coal and household coal would be increased by 4s 2d and 14s 2d a ton respectively from May 12—Imperial Service.
