Mr. Newton King, local agent for the BS. and A. Co., has been adivlsed that subject to her (fraught on arrival being within the limit at present Imposed by the shipping companies (21ft 6ln) the White Star liner Gallic will load at the breakwater about the end of the month. The Gallic Is a new steamer with 428,000 cubic feet capacity In her Insulated chambers. Few steamers afloat have a larger capacity than this. It may be that New Plymouth will be her first port of call, THE RIMU. Owing to the weather being unsuitable for the loading of cement, the Rlmu will not now reach New Plymouth until Sunday. THE NGATORO. Mr. E. Griffiths has received advice that the s.a Ngatoro will bring about 600 tons of cement to New Plymouth about the end of the month. THE ROSAMOND, The latest advices regarding the Rosamond are that It Is hoped she may get away from Wellington by Friday or Saturday. OCEANIC COMPANY PURCHASES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, May 11.' ' Tho Oceanic Steamship Company has purchased the fonmer Austrian Lloyd liner Martha Washington. It will be run In conjunction with the Ven'tura and Sonoma on a three-weekly service across the Pacific. The company has also purchased the cargo steamer Las Vegas, which will be incorporated with the Oceanic line of steamers, and will henceforth come to Sydney under, the auspices of the General Steamship CorporatlQai of San Francisco, calling at New Zealand.— Aus.-N.Z.
