[Stratford Representative: W. J, Wilson, Broadway North. Telephone 338.] HOSPITAL BOARD. May 11. The Stratford Hospital Board met this morning. Present: Messrs. C. 1). Sole (chairman), E. Walter, J. Mackay, E. W. Hancock, C. P.. Finnerty and R. H. Cameron. The medical superintendent (Dr. Steven) reported that during the month of April thirty-three patients were admitted to the hospital, thirty-live discharged, and one died, leaving 21 in hospital at the end of the month. Nine operations had been performed. There were fifteen out-patient attendances. The matron (Miss G, S. Bcedle) reported, inter alia, that the average mimbe» of patients was daily increasing, and when the new wards were opened she would require the services of another trained nurse. The Health Inspector (Mr. A. Gray) reported that one case of diphtheria and one of puerperal fcyer were notified during the month in the Stratford Borough, and two cases of diphtheria were notified in the Stratford County, all of which were removed to hospital and the premises disinfected. One suspected case of scarlet fever was notified from Whangamomona and the patient was isolated at home- Forty-one cases of mild influenza and four cases of measles were notified throughout the district. GENERAL. Nine canes of influenza were reported in the Stratford hospital district yesterday. During the. month of April 41 mild cases were notified in the district. The Stratfofd Borough Council has decided to obtain a complete collection of photographs of the ceremony in connection with the Prince of Wales' visit, and also to prorure a plate commemorating the lmveiline of the Roll of Honor by His Royal Highness. Mr. <'. 11. Fox's assembly dances will be. held in the Town Hall as usual on Thursday evening, and on Saturday evening. A welcome social will bo accorded the Rev. and Mrs. L. B. Nestle in the Methodist Schoolroom to-morrow (Wednesday) night. 1 The postponed annual urennral meeting
of the Stratford A. and P. Association will he held on Saturday next, at 1.30 p.m., in the Parish Hall, Stratford, and all members are requested to attend.
