PRISONER ATTEMPTS SUICIDE.

SCENE IN SUPREME COURT. By Telegraph —Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. James Kirkman, a prisoner awaiting trial at the Supreme Court on charges of forgery and theft, attempted suicide by hanging in the gaol yard this morning. Ob being brought before Judge Sim later, the prisoner created a scene by wing violent and obscene language. The Crown Prosecutor said the man Vas obviously insane, and Judge Sim remawied him till the next sitting of the Supreme Court. When Kirkman was before the Lower Court at Cromwell he, on two occasions, attempted to commit suicide with a tenr.
