The Ukrainian Press Bureau states the Polish forces have cut the railway forty kilometres from Kieff, threatening the Red Army's line of retreat. ,Moscow, May 8. A Bolshevik communique states the troops engaged superior enemy forces on the night of the Oth to the north-west and south-west of Kieff. The enemy broke into the outskirts,of the town, but count-ter-attacks held them up. Later, iu accordance with instructions, the Bolsheviks withdrew order to the left bank of the Dnieper.—Aus.-N.Z.
