A TRAGEDY OF YPRES.
FORTY MEN DIE TOGETHER. By Telegraph.—Press'Assn.— Copyright. Received May 9, 5.5 p.m. Brussels, Wy ?. The bodies of forty British soldiers were discovered in a cellar in the Grand Place at Ypres. They were evidently overcome by gas, arid were lying peacefully, their heads pillowed on their arms. The tragedy apparently dates back to the summer of 1915, when practically a platoon disappeared in the vicinity, supposedly being wiped out by the bursting of German fifteen-inch shells.—Times Service.
