There was no formality or order of precedence, everyone passing on in the positions they held at the time of the Royal entry into the ballroom. As soon as all present had been personally greeted, dancing began at once. Ilis Royal Highness opening the hall with his hostess, the Countess of Liverpool. Thereafter he danced every dance, and thoroughly enjoyed them too. The dressing was quite brilliant, and uniform and full decorations being worn made the hall a memorable one. His Royal Highness was in naval uniform, as were members of his staff. Her Excellency the Countess of Liverpool wore a gown of deep rose charmeuse, the skirt draped to one side with a fall of gold lace, which also finished the cordage, while tiny flower posies made an effective trimming. She wore the ribbon and Order of a Dame of the British Empire and diamond ornaments.
