£IOOO PARK FUND.

APPLE AND CHRYSANTHEMUM DAY. A very gratifying response has been made (o (lie appeal for the above fund, so far as to-morrow's special day is concerned. Apples have been sent from Hastings, llavclock North, and Nelson, one grower in the latter district having donated 20 eases. Local residents have also given very generously in this respect, while quantities of vegetables and other produce have also been received. The meat companies and butchers have donated a fine lot of goods, which are being cooked and potted in different ways, and other'folk have also been pickling supplies of vegetables which have been donated for that purpose, Mr. W. C. Weston has donated a handsome, wellfilled gentleman's dressing ease, and this will be disposed of by corrfpetiton tomorrow. Stalls will be erected on the. streets, and a good day is confidently looked forward to toy those in charge of the effort. Gifts of any description suitable for sale will be gratefully accepted, and may be left at Mrs. Burgess' office, Devon Street Central, any time after ten o'clock this morning. ADDITIONAL DONATIONS.
