EVERYBODY'S. "COURAGE FOR TWO." Several good features in the new World film drama, "Courage for Two" lift the picture out of the average, and at the same time present the favorite strong hero star, Carlyle Blackwell, in a thoroughly likeable role. During the development of the play Blackwell is called on for a double impersonation, and his acting in the dual role is very clever and convincing, The play it--1 self is highly dramatic, and featured by El number of thrilling sensations. The first occurs in the opening scene, where a crowded dance hall is raided by tho police. There is a wild rush for safety, and the hero rescues the girl by carrying her along a wire between two higli buildings. The moral of the play is that the difference between Big Money and Thugdom is only one of degree. "The Lightning Raider" is included on the programme which Shows finally pightENGLISH PIERROTS. EMPIRE THEATRE TO-NIGHT. After another most successful season of sixty-five weeks in Australia, making the seventeenth—and comprising over two thousand five hundred performances —the English Pierrots, under the direction of Will and Rob Thomas, are again announced to tour the Dominion, commencing their season at the Empire Theatre this evening, when they -will again present their unique musical, and humorous entertainments, and the company will submit a series of new and novel items, never previously given in this town. Originality and novelty are t'he keynotes of the Pierrots' success. Musical * gems, monologues, character •sketches, burlesque dramas, potted plays, dances, and impersonations are amongst th£ items in the promised bill-of-fare, the advent of which should grouse delightful memories of the previous visits of the English Pierrotß. The of sixteen artists consists of nine female and seven male performers, four of the ladies forming the instrumental orchestra, which is a special feature of the programme presented. In addition to .svhifh, there are five ladies entirely new, to the combination, and one male m.embeij,' Mr. William Crougey, baritone. The balance of the male portion are the, popular favorites of past reasons, and Include the popular comedians Mr. W. P; Turner and Mr Charles Lawrence, entertainer, both being well and ' favorably remembered from previous visits; The opening programma will serve to introduce several .capital items, affording ample scope for the individual and collective abilities of the members. THE PEOPLE'S. MAY ALLISON—"CASTLES IN THE AIR." To-night's new bill at the People's presents dainty May Allison in Metro's latest production, "Castles in the Ail'." Some gorgeous dressings are introduced and one setting shows a parade of smartly dressed men and women, many of the models being of exclusive Parisian design. The story is one of delightful and satisfying completeness, an alluring romance of an adorable girl, and while containing just a tear or two it is a scintillating and flashing comedy. The lilll includes the latest Gazette, Travelog and Billv West comedy, "The Haiidv Man" The Big William Farnum Fox feature, "The Man Hunter," is to be presented next Tuesday.
