SHIPPING difficulty acute, POSITION AT NEW PLYMOUTH. Company told a Daily News representative yesterday that the works at Smart Road were now just about blocked, and a surplus was being carried at Moturoa. There are now 150.000 freight carcases in store at Smart Road, with a further quantity of 27,000 at Moturoa. Th e first relief will come towards the end of this month, when the o'nnn 7"' loiul ,lt Waitara, taking J-.UOO freight carcases from the Smart Road works. The company has never had to actually reduce its killing capacity, but for some tiigj! past stock has only been accepted from shareholders. The outlook, however, oan only be improved by further shipping, and if the Gallic proves to be the only steamer between now and the third week in June it may be necessary for tho works to gtop killing. The : necessity for more export space was never more essential than it is now,
