The Lands Committee of the New Zealand R.S.A. presented a report, criticising the Government work in soldier settlements. The report stated that the principal need was to get soldiers settled on large estates in reasonable time, at a price which would assure a comfortable living when produce prices were stabilised. The committee deprecated the purchase of small farms. The recommendations provided for the compulsory acquisition of large estates .according to the scheme approved by the Fanners' Union, communal setlements for tuberculous and partially disabled men, increased stock and building advances, R S.A. representation on Utnd Boards, and tlie administration of soldiers' housing advances by the Repatriation Boards. The report was adopted, and it was resolved that a deputation should ask the Government to enforce the 100S Act for the acquisition of large estates, and that Colonel Mitchell move in the House that the Act be enforced. •
