U.S. AND PEACE.

NO NEARER AGREEMENT. I By Telegraph.—rress Assn.—Copytlj-ht. Washington, May 1. The Republican leaders expect considerable difficulties in obtaining enough votes to adopt the Knox peace resolutions. They are confident, however, it will command a majority once they can force a roll call, but the belief is expressed that the Democrats will delay the roll call by every possible Parliamentary means in order to save President Wilson the embarrassment of vetoing the resolution, thus causing the executive to incur the responsibility of further delaying peace. Senator Lodge will call up the resolution on May 5.
