An appeal to "class conscience workers and all lovers of social justice," not to take any part in oflicially welcoming the Prince of Wales lias been issued by the Christchurch Labor Representation Committee. The appeal takes the form of a lengthy manifesto.—Press Association. The iconoclastic instincts of a horse in Devon Street yesterday morning was in strange contrast to the efforts of those who were busily engaged in putting up decorations in honor of th'e Prince's visit. An expressman had drawn his vehicle up outside a shop, and left the turn-out in charge of a small boy, who was more intent on watching proceedings in the street than anything else. The horse meanwhile, having, perhaps, had to be satisfied with a hasty morning meal in order to answer the call for early service, helped himself to some of the greenery which had been utilised in the decoration, and was busily engaged stripping off the tender growth from a nice sapling lied to a veranda ii post.
