ADDINGTON MARKET. Christchurch, April 28, At Addlngton market to-day there was an average yarding of fat stock and a reduced one oF store sheep. Values were well maintained in all classs of fat stock, particularly in sheep and cattle. Tho store sheep yarding comprised a considerable consignment of South Otago aud southern sheep, which, were in backward condition. The market opened «luggishly, and at a considerable decrease on the preceding week's rates. Vendors piepared to accept the wtarket, and there were few passings. Tho tone and values improved as tho sale progressed. Forward lambs 19s to 21s lOd, ordinary lambs 14s 9d to 18s t»d, cull lambs 10s tv 12s 9d, good 2-tooth ewes to 2!>s 9d, 2, 4, 6, and 8-tooth ewes 25s to 28s (id. inferior 4. G, and 8-tooth ewes lfls t<* 22s Gd, 4 and 5-year ewes 20s to 24s 6d. sound-mouth ewe? 21s Od to 28s. good 4 and fi-tooth wethers 30s to 345. inferior 4, 6, and 8-tooth wethers 25s to 28s, good 2-tooth wethers to 295, ordinary and inferior 2-tooth, wethers 22s to 27s 6d. About 2750 fat lambs were yarded, freezing buyers securing the bulk. Extra prime lambs to 24s 6d, prime lambs 27s 6d to 335, medium lambs 25s to 27s 3<i, light and unfinished 22s 7d to 24s fld. The fat sheep market opened somewhat weakly, but quickly strengthened, and a good sale resulted. Extra prime wethers 45s 3d to 54s Id, prime wethers 37s to 44s 9d, medium wethers 26s 3d to 30s 9d, extra prime ewes 35s 04 to 43s 9d. medium ewes 31s to 355, lighter ewes 21s 3d to 3fls 6d. Fat cattle: Extra prime steers £lB 5s to £24, steers £l4 5s to £l7 ss, lighter steers £lO 17s fid to £l3 10s. prime heifers £l2 lfts to £ls 2s fid, ordinary heifers £7 10s to £ll 10s, prime cows £l3 5s to £l9, ordinary cows £9 Jo £l2 r>s.
