INGLEWOOD SALE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Tho sale at the Farmers' yards at Inglewood on Wednesday was held under most untowards weal her conditions, tc which fact must be attributed, to a considerable extent at any rate, the comparative dullness of the sale. iThere was not » big muster of stock, and .the audience wan a small one. in spite of these adverse circumstances, howover, buyers were found for quite a considerable proportion of the lots put forward. Of these, mixed weaners sold for £2 Holstoin weaner heifers for £2 lr.s, 2-year-old steers for £7, 3-year olds £ll 10s, heifers In calf from £8 10s up to £l4 10s for Jersey strain heifers, store cows as high as £S IDs,, forward ewes realised 22s 6d, and fair early shorn lambs 14s 3d. BURNSIDE STOCK SALE. Dunedln, April 2. Tho outstanding feature o£ the Burnsido sale to-day was the poor quality of sheep offered. Wethers appear to be diminishing In quantity. Prices for tills class were firmer to-day. Supplies in other fat stock departments were ample for requirements, but generally speaking the quality was disappointing. Sheep.—A medium ■ yarding, numbering 2iOG head. Tho quality was very indifferent, very few prime sheep being forward. No extra prime heavy-weight wethers were offered. Por all inferior sheep prices were firmer, while for prime wethers, prices were from Is to Is (Id higher than those which ruled at last week's sale. Prime wethers made from 44s to 48s lid, medium 35s to 43s light and unlinlshed kinds from Hi's upwards. Prime ewe 3 brought from 38s 3d to 45s !)d, medium 33s to 375, light and aged, from 22s upwards. Fat Lambs.—A small yarding, a total o? Gl3 head being offered. The quality on tho whole was fair. On account of the small yarding, prices were firmer by Is to Is Cd per head. Values ranged from 20s to 37s ner head. Fat Cattle—A fair yarding, numbering IS4 head of medium quality. At the commenceaient of the sale there was a good demand for all prime cattle at an advance of 10s per head on last week's rates. Prime bullocks brought from £l9 to £24 12s Cd medium £lO 10s to £lB 10s, light and unfinished kinds from £l4 10s upwards Prime heifers brought from £l6 to £l7 10s, medium £l3 to £l4 10s, light and aged, from £9 tinwards. Store Cattle.—A smaller yarding than usual, with a sprinkling of cows suitable for canning purposes. For this class prices were on a par with late rates, but for young and forward cattle (which comprised the bulk of the yarding) competition was slack and prices barely maintained at late rates. Pius A good yarding. Very few baconers were forward, the bulk of tho yarding connistnig of porkers and small pips. Prices realised were equal to late rates Best baconers brought from lOd to lid por lb and best porkers from io%d to per lb.
