A Sinn Fein demonstration at Glasgow in sympathy with the hunger-strikers ended in a collision with the police, who* arrested the leader. An attempt by the crowd at rescue led the police to' make a baton charge in which seventf were injured. The demonstrators were dispersed; FURTHER OUTRAGES. London, April 27. Some youths stoned three soldiers at Limerick. The soldiers chased the assailants upon which an unknown civilian threw a smoke bomb while another fired a shot, fatally' wounding one of the soldiers. Armed men confronted three constables at Dingle station and seized their revolvers and ammunition. The constables fled and the assailants tired, wounding a constable. At Liverpool a deputation of Irishmen to the Lord Mayor threatened that Irishmen would hold up tho Liverpool industries unless the Sinn Feiners were released from Wormwood Scrubbs within 48 hours. Similar threats were mode at other ports. TOTAL TROOPS IN IRELAND.* Received April 29, 7.40 p.m. London, April 28t In the House of Commons, Mr. WM*' ston Churchill (Secretary for War), replying to questions, stated that at present there were 34,382 effective troops in Ireland, besides forty tanks.—lmperial Service.
