CHARGES AGAINST SLAUGHTERMEN By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. At the Magistrate's Court to-day, the Inspector of Awards proceeded against sixteen slaughtermen employed at the Imlny Freezing Works, as a sequel to tha alleged strike there in January last, It was stated for the prosecution that the slaughtermen asked for increased rates for killing, and on being refused, ceased work the following day. "Work was resumed a few days later. The defence was that the men ceased work on account of the wet condition of the sheep, and that thoir action was not associated with the question of killing rates. Judgment was reserved.
