BOROUGH COUNCIL NOTICES. NEW PLYMOUTH BOROUGH COUNCIL. SPECIAL LOAN OP £72,000. •pHE New Plymouth Borough Council hereby gives public notice (hat if proposes to borrow the sum of £72,000 by way of Special Loan under "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1013." The particular purposes for which the loan is required are:— (a) To provide additions and extensions to the Council's Electric Lighting and Power Works either within or without the Borough. (b) To supply electricity. ( f ) acquire or provide in connection with such additions and extensions, lands, casements, and appurtenances, and buildings, tunnels, weirs, reservoirs, engines, machinery, and other things. (d) To acquire or provide in connection with the Council's Electric Lighting and Power Works and such additions and extensions, lands and buildings for the purpose of ''workers' dwellings" within the meaning of sec(:on "25 of ''The Municipal Corporations Act, 1.008," and generally to exercise the powers conferred by the said section 325. (e) To pay compensation to any person or persons injuriously affected. (f) Any other purposes incidental or in relation to any of the above mentioned purposes. The sum proposed to be borrowed foT all such purposes is £72,000 at a rate of interest no', exceeding £f> 10s per centum per annum, with a sinking fund of one and one-half per centum additional. The. proposed security for the said loan of £72.000, and the interest and sinking fund thereon, is an annually recurring special rate of one penny and one-seventh of a penny (1 l/7th d) in the pound on the rateable value of nil rateable property in tile raid Borough, and it is proposed to repay the said loan on the Ist day of April, ,1033. It is proposed to pay out of the said loan the cost of raising the said loan and the interest and sinking fund thereon for the first year. J HEREBY give notice that a Poll of the Ratepayers will be taken on WEDNESDAY, the 12th day of May, 1920, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m upon the proposal of the New Plymouth Borough Council to raise a Special Loat of £72.000 to provide additions and extensions to the Council's Electric Lighting and Power Works, and for all other putposes set out in the above notice.
