FUTURE OF ARMENIA.
CANADA TO TAKE CONTROL. By Telegraph.—Fresa San Remo, April 23. It is understood that the Premiers decided to offer the Armenian mandate to Norway. The general opinion prevails, however, that Norway refused owing to the necessity of supplying a police force. It is stated that Lord Curzon then intimated that Canada would accept the mandate over Armenia.—Aus.-NZ. Cable Assn. DENIAL FROM CANADA. Received April 25, 5.5 p.m. Ottawa, April 23. Government . officials declare that Canada has not expressed a desire to accept the Armenian mandate, and had not yet received an offer.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. AN JNDEPENDENT STATE. Received April 20, 5.5 p.m. London, April' 24. There are indications that the League of Nations Council shirked responsibility in regard to Armenia, which the Supreme Council has decided 71111st stand ns an independent State.—Aus.-N.Z.
