Tukapa Saturday seniors journeyed to Waiara en Saturday, and played Clifton seniors, the proceeds being in aid of an old footballer a lair number of enthusiasts being present. ' Although the Clifton team laid had no practice, they were too good for their opponents both in attr •'; and back play, the latter appearing to lie- on the light side. No douul the absence of the Oliver Bros, weakened the Tukapa back division. The game, however, was not a brilliant exhibition of football, and both teams were "puffing" long before the finish of the game. Hooker converting one. OLD BOYS DEFEAT STAR. There was a good attendance at the Racecourse on Saturday, when Old Boys seniors met and defeaied Star seniors. The latter, owing to several of their men being laid up, took tho field short, and several old timers Including S. Stroud, Lowe, and a burly native, lined out for them. ' In the first spell Old Bovs had all thei better of the game, and their backs proving too good, they notched eight points. Svkei' scored as the result of a.nice passing boi't whilst a little later HamMin got over and Svkes converted. flaying with the wind in Ihe second spell, Star more than held their own, and were within an ace of scoring on two or three occasions. . Stroud had three shots at goal from penalty kicks, from one of which be landed a neat goal. The game ended Old Boys S, Star 3. Mr. R. Johnson was. referee. STAR JUNIORS DEFEAT OLD BOYS.
