EXCHANGE REVIVAL.

CONFIDENCE. IN BRITAIN. London, A|*il fl. General satisfaction is noted at the gradual recovery of tlie pound sterling in New York. It crossed the four-dollar mark at Easter for the first time since the end of Xovembv, though it has since declined slightly. The improvement lias been partly due to sentiment and partly to a real recovery in the financial position between England and the Unilod States. The recent Anclo-Freneh decision to repay the half-billion dollars loan has awakened greater confidence in the United States as retards Britain's ability to pay her debts. Tt is expected that four-fifths of the British share of the loan will be repaid by the shipment of gold. The improvement of the trade position also accounts for the recovery of the exchange, which is expected 'to go still better as a result of the forthcoming large inflow of American visitors towards Britain.
