ADDINGTON MARKET. Chrlstchurch, April 21. There were? good averago yardings of all classes of stock to-day, except fat lambs, Prices easedi considerably for fat cattle, freezing buyers not operating, but the fat aheap and lamb demand was flnni, and recent rates were maintained. Store sheep.—The excellent, feed prospects throughout Canterbury are having a stabilising effect on the store markt. Forwnrrt made 19s Gd to 24s 6d, ordinary 15s Gd to 19s, cull 10s to 12s 6d. Good ewe lambs made 28s 9d, ordinary 18s !)d to 25s fid Hood 2tooth ewes mado to 32s Gd, ordinary 25s to r :Bs 6(1, 2, 4, 0, and 8-toot.h ewes 25s 9d to 325, 4 and 5-year ewes'2(Js io 275, failinginouthed 18s Gd to 235, good 4, G, and 8-tooth ewes to 38s Id, sound-mouthed ewes 22s\ Gd to 30s Gd. Good 4, G, and 8-tooth wethers made 40s to 345, inferior 20s to 28s Gd, good 2-tooth wethers to 30s, inferior to 255. Pat lambs—The sale was on a. par with recent ones, freezing,buyers securing'the bulk of tho entry. Extr.l prime lambs brought from 33s Gd to 41s. primp 27s Gd tc 32s Gd, medium 25s to 27s 3d, lighter 21s Gd to 24s 9d. Pat sheep.—Freezing buyers operated to a considerable extent. Extra prime wethers made 45s Gd to 53s Id, prime 37s 3d to 44s 9d, medium 31s 3d to G3s 9d. lighter 28s 9d to 30s 9d. Extra prime ewes made to 4Gs, prlmo 35s Gd to 43s Gd, medium 31s to 355, lighter 23s to 30s Gd. Fat cattle.—There was a distinct drop !n anything but prime. Extra prime steers made to £24 7s Gd, prime €l7 15s to £23. medium £l3 15s to £IG 10s. lighter £lO 2s Gd to £l3. Prime beefers unado £l2 10s to £lB. ordinary £7 to £l2. Prime cows made £l2 10s to £l7, ordinary £7 12s Gd to, £ll 15s Store cattle.—A full yarding, btit spiritless demand. Dairy cattle.—A good snle. Springing heifers brought up to £2O 10s, and second and third calvers to £lO, Fat pigs.—Choppers made' to £9, heavy baconers to £8 10s (average price per lb to heavy porkers to £5 Gs! Prices on the whole showed a weakening tendency, which was in large measure attributable to the fact that the local freezing works are overstocked. Fnt cattle: Before the close of tho sale prices had receded fully 20s per head. Prime bullocks made from £l9 to £ll, medium £IG to £lB, light and unfinished from £l2 10s., prime heifers from £l4 to £l7 10s, medium from £lO 10b to £l3, light from £S 10s. Store cattle: Cows suitable for canning purposes wore quite neglected. Bulls and young cattle also lacked buyers' attention. • Tho only class which i ■maintained late rates wore well-grown steers I in good forward condition. Sheep: For all prime quality wethers and ewes competition was good, at an advnnco of la per head, while inferior and unfinished were neglected, and showed a decline of 2s to 3s per head compared with last week's rates. Extra'prime heavy-weight wethers brought 50s 3d to 525, 9d, prime 42s Gd to 48s 4d. medium 37s to 41s, light and unfinished from 30s up. A few specially selected heavy-weight ewes brought 48s to 535, prime 36s Gd to 41s 9d, medium Jls to 335, light and aged from 23s up. Fat ambs: Owing to the local freezing works being congested, freezing buyers were not keen operators, In consequence of which the sale °o a rft £Ring nature, and prices receded iully „8 6d per head on late rates. Values ranged from lGs to 30s per head Pigs: Prices wern again easier. Baconers made from 9d to per lb for best, and porkers from 9Vad to lid. LONDON MARKETS.
