Haweva, who put Fltzroy out of action tn the forenoon, were opposed bv I Ultima after lunch, and after an in'erestlng contest triumphed over their opponents. Plav closed about r> p.m., when Mr. Fred Spurdle extended the usual lrearly good wishes, antl handed the much coveted banner, in congratulatory terms, to the Hawera Club, amidst applause. . Air. Adamson resnonded on behalf of the visitors, Messrs. Lamliie, sen. (Plhuma), and ', 1; Smith (FitCToy) responded on behalf or their respective clubs. The ladles were indefatigable in their efforts 1 in dispensing refreshments. SEMI-FINAL. HAWERA DEFEAT FITZROY. This contest was keen, but Hawera got the larger points at threo rinks out of five. The only Fitzroy rink that went aown rather badly war Abbott's, though ills team v' a m. WBll bal »nee<l. !>ut "not so well as McNeill a, which could not have bee bettered. The aeores indicate the closeness of the games, and Hawera was fortunate In obtaining the victory. Both clubs were slrongly represented and were well matched. The position now is that McDonald tilays Curteis, and the winner will play Lyons In the final tif tho championship.
