VICEROY NOT RESIGNING.
MORE FIERCE FIGHTING. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, April 19. Lord French denies that he is resigning. There was a recurrence of fierce fighting in Londonderry all night long on Sunday. The police charged with bayonets, olearing the streets of stonethrowing crowds. The Unionists and Republicans exchanged many shots and a young man was killed. The Londonderry correspondent oftlie Evening News reports that, with a view to preventing a recurrence of the riots, the police have adopted a novel planThey withdrew at nightfall from the danger points and permitted two priests to patrol the ..streets, armed with umbrellas. They cleared the streets before midnight.—United Service.
DETECTIVE MURDERED. Received April 21,10.30 p.m. London, April 20. The man murdered at Dublin has been identified as Detective Dalton, who fell after returning several rounds of fire from his assailants. A woman was shot in the leg while passing.—United Service.
