PUBLIC NOTICES. ' NEW PLYMOUTH 'BOROUGH COUNCIL. SPECIAL LOAN OF £72,000. New Plymouth Borougli Council hereby gives public notice that it proposes to borrow the sum of £72,000 by way of Special Loan under "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1013." The ]>articular purposes for which the loan is required are:— (a) To provide additions and extensions to the Council's Electric Lighting and Power Works either within or without the Borough. (b) To supply electricity. (c) To acquire or provide in connection witSi such additions and extensions, lands, easements, and appurtenances, and buildings, tunnels, weirs, reservoirs, engines, machinery, and other things. (d) To acquire or provide in connection with the Council's Electric Lighting and Power Works and such additions and extqttsions, lands and buildings for the purpose of "workers' dwellings" within the meaning of section 325' of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 100S," and generally to exercise the powers conferred by the said section 325. (e) To pay compensation to any person or persons injuriously affected. (f) Any other purposes incidental or in relation to aiiy of the above mentioned purposes. The sum proposed to be borrowed for all sucb purposes is £72,000 at a rate of interest no'; exceeding ;C,~> 10s per centum per annum, with a sinking fund of one and one-half per centum additional. The proposed security for the said loan of £72,000, and the interest and sinking fund thereon, is an annually recurring special rate of one penny and one-seventh of a penny (1 l/7th d) in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the said Borough, and it is proposed to repay the said loan on the Ist day of April, 1083. It is proposed to pay out of the said loan the cost of raising the said loan and the interest and sinking fund thereon for the first year.
