THREAT TO GAS SUPPLY.
DUE TO SHORTAGE OP COAL: By Telegraph —Press Association Auckland, Last Night. Although the supplies of coal at the mines have improved a lack of shipping has resulted in reducing stocks at the ?as company's works,to an extent which threatens an actual cutting off of the supply. There is barely sufficient coal in store to keep the works running until.Monday next, and the; company's engineer and manager have advised the directors that it will he expedient to reduce ores, sure after 730 p.m. on Wednesday, lnursday, and Saturday next in order to economise in the consumption of gas.
