AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
MEETING OF GENERAL COMMITTEE. A meeting of the general committee of the Taramk: A. and P. Society was held on Saturday, there being present Messrs. W. B. Grant (chairman), H. C. Sampson, A. T. Moore, C. Dobson, R. H. Pigott, C. W. Reube, H. Lister, A. J. Luxton, W. Hall, A. R. Gudopp, E. C. Stanley, J. R. Rowlands, G. Eoskin, C. Topless, W. K. Morris, and P. W. Sandford. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. N. Hill and A. R. Davl». Mr. J. Hurle waited on the committee with a request that two trophies should be offered in the pigeons' sections of the Winter Show, and after consideration It was decided to provide two trophies and a sliver spoon. It was also decided to purchase two trophies of the value of £3 3s each, and that ao far as the Agricultural Society was concerned the conditions should be that they be won three times in succession beforo becoming the property of the exhibitor. The request of the Adjutant of the Xlth Taranaki Regiment for permission to erect a stop-butt for miniature rifle shooting In the Society's annexe at the Coronation Hall, and to make a slightly larger opening at one of the doorways, was agreed to. It was decided to allow the United Tootball Club the use of the Society's grounds at Walwakalho for a small rental for the season, and a percentage of all gate takings. Mr. John Northcote (TJrenul) was elected a member of the Society. Votes of thanks were passed to the judges at the recent show, several of whom donated their fees to the Society. Thanks was also accorded to the following for donations and assistance In connection with the autumn show: Messrs. W. Bendall, J. S. Connett A. Colson, Bert Sampson, T. Luxton, H. Street, W. Ogle, H. Sampson, P. Salway, A. Colson, Somervllle, J. Kibby, Clelland, Newton King, Roy Parkin, A. S. Hill, A. Lock, S. Colson, Taranaki Farmers' Freezing Company, Bell Block itnd Hillsborough Hall Committees, Serf Post Furnishing Co., Mr. R. D. Climle, Mr. P. W. Sandford, Mrs. F. Sampson, Mrs. Eva, and Mis. Leech. It was decided to ask the principals of .the town secondary and primary schools to bo 4 sub-committee to take charge of the schools sections at the forthcoming Winter Show.
