DISTRICT NEWS.
BAHOTTJ. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The afternoon tea and auction mart in aid of the Queen Carnival did verv User,. in tne evening a mince was held to further the funds. The dance was not as well attended as could have been expected. It seems a bit early for dancing yet.
Mr. H. Hopkins has leased his farmto his five sons.
Mr.- A. Chapman and sons are very busy trying to get the bowling green done in time for next season. There is a lot of work to he put in before the grass can be laid down.
Mr. A. Phillips is still in the hospital suffering from a bad leg, but his friends hope soon to see him home again.
Mrs. Morrow, senr., has bought a home in New Plymouth, and intends to retire there with her daughters, as soon as the sale of the estate takes place.
Mr. Ronny Wright, of Matangi, visited the district at Easter,.
