GIRLS' FRIENDLY SOCIETY.
SUCCESSFUL SALE OF WORK. The Girls' Friendly Society held a very successful sale of work and entertainment in St. Mary's schoolroom, New Plymouth, yesterday afternoon. A few stalls nicely arranged around the room and the daintily spread afternoon tea tables presented an attractive appearance, and each helped in the effect of raising funds for furnishing the Society's rooms and laying out the grounds. The music, which was arranged by Miss Percy-Smith, was thoroughly enjoyed, and was contributed by the Misses Millar (violin solos), J. Home, M. Thomson, Jones and J. Cocker (vocal solos), the accompaniments being played by Mrs. Paton and Miss Douglas. The stalls were in charge of the following ladies: Fancy Work- —Mrs. Ebbcrlet and the Misses Monica Newsam and H. Harvey. Flowers.—Misses Wilson, Church, N. Hurle, and F. Luder. Produce.—Misses Curtis, Putt and F. Christian. Afternoon Tea. —Mrs Neal, and the Misses L- Aldridge, E. Buckle, F. Milman, E. Loveridge, and Dulcie Orudis. ,
