The attendance was again very large, and the investments showed! i & big Increase. The racing was again In- 1 I teresting. Barry was cautioned for crossing Yankee Dan and Miss Lore In the Rewa Hack Handicap. Sweet Memory was also crossed in the Denbigh Handicap, but It was considered 1 accidental. • All started in th& Kimbolton Hurdles, for which All • Talk was a hot favorite, with Zola and -Sail Home next In demand. After one break away the field moved off in line. Hautawa led Sweet Tipperary, Sail Home and Zola over the first fence and past the stand. Sweet Tipperary joined Hautawa at the six furlongs post, and at the five was in front. 'Hautawa',' Zola, Sail Home, and All Talk, 'the latter jumping hadly, followed in that ordtr.i Sweet Tipperary led Hautawa, Sail Home and Zola into tho straight. Hautawa fell on landing over the last fence, leaving 'Sweet Tipperary to win easily by three lengths from Sail Home. Zola was five lengths away third, and then came Vigllo, All Talk and Omahu. Lady Penza lost her rider at "the first fence. The winner paid a fine price considering her partiality to the distance and to tho Fellding course. Vindictive and Prodigal were the only withdrawals from the Waiata Stakes, for which the Wanganul-iralned AU Cerise was backed as if •the race , was all over. Rangiata was the only other serlQUsly considered. Form again begair 'quickest and led Minsk and a strung out crowd to the bend. . Form looked like staying in front, but .Crucelle came fast from the distance, and won by a long neck All Cerise finished strongly two lengths further away, with Lenata and Gay Patron next. Mr. D. Cullinane's- win was well received, as tht* Wanganul sportsman |ins always raced to win, but bad luck has attended his team. Rislngham dropped out of the Easter Handicap, , leaving six runners. The betting was very even, Moutoa I van ova being £4 better favorite than Nobleman, with Red Ribbon and Imaribbon backed to within £2OO of the favorite. All imoved off in line, and passing the stand. Haversack Jed Moutoa Ivanova, Bonnie Maid and Nobleman. Moutoa Ivanova joined ITaver&ack along the back, with Imaand Nobleman next, but the field closed up running to the bend. .Imaribbon was first Into the straight from Bonnie Maid and Red Ribbon, while Nobleman was pocketed oh the fence. Imaribbon ran on strongly, to finish winning by a good length from Red Ribbon, who finished fast and beat 3onnle Maid by a similar distance. Nobleman was fourth, Moutoa Ivanova fifth, and Haversack last. The winner was accorded a fine reception on returning to the scale. In twelve starts she has recorded ten firsts and two seconds. *

All started In the Oroua Hack Handicap, Simon being backed down to odds-on The ra«e require? little description. Fullca led a bunched lot to the home turn, where the favorite assumed command and won very easily by two lenpths from Achlllion, who finished strongly a length in front of Sweet Song. Moutoa. Camp was fourth, and Fulifa fifth. Simon's win was thei easiest of the day.

All Over was withdrawn from tlie Denbigh Handicap, leaving five runners, and the public supported Jutland. Klnsem. and Santorlnl solidly. Santorlnl dashed off in front and led Sweet Memory and Klnsem along the hack Sweet Memory retired as they came to the turn, and Klnsem and Jutland came fast Santorlnl came into the straight with a two lengths lead, which he easily maintained to the finish. Jutland beat Klnsem by a length for second place, and Egmont Park was fourth. Paroratigi and Quiniro were missing from the Bewa Hack Handicap, a field of thirteen going to the post. Buddy and Miss Love each carried over a thousand tickets. Sir Fanciful, on the rails, was quickest away, but at the end of a furlong Passln' Through Lady Paula, Sir Fanciful, and Miss Love was the order. Buddy ran into third position nearlng the home turn, and coming on won nicely by three-quarters of a length from Passln' Tfcrotlgh, who was a length In front of Lady Paula. Then caiino Empyrean. Miss Love. Belle o" the Camp, and Sir Fanciful. Nine were saddled up in the Awahuri Hack Welter, favoritism being divided between Quiniro, Philomela, and The Digger. The start was a poor one, Miralma and The Digger [being left, and they took no part In the race. Quiniro led Molyncaux to the turn, where the latter forged ahead and won nicely by a | length from Tlttiwal, with Quiniro a similar distance away third. Then came Mlmirl and Philomela.

Five went to the post for the Mak'no Welter, Ftfllca being withdrawn. Lingerie was a better favorite than All Over and Risingbam. Lingerie was first away, and was Joined by All Over In the run along the book. All Over shook Lingerie off In the straight, and Just prevailed over the fast finishing Rislngham by a head, Lingerie a length away third, and Idle Talk fourth.

30TES ON THE RACING. (By Telegraph.—Special to Daily News.) Christchurch, Last Night. The autumn meeting of the Canterbury Jockey Club was concluded to-day. The weather was dull and threatening in the morning, but the sun broke through about noon, and the programme was completed under pleasant conditions. Thv attendance fell short of the first day's, and the fields were smaller, while tho sport was not nearly so exciting. H. Gray rode three winners and a second, making seven wins and two seconds for the two days. There! were only five starters for the Peerswick Hurdle Handicap, and the first hurdle saw the stable-mates, Prince Delaware aad Trickery, run off. Sea Blue showed the way for a couple of furlongs, and then gradually retired. Then Bombproof took charge, but Rylanp had his measure, and a, long way from home he handled his big load like a twdesman, and he looks a champion among the hurdlers who aTe out at present. Bombproof jumped a trifle unevenly, cut he will pay his way as a hurdler. j In a field of eight Delight was a warm I favorite for the Autumn Nursery Handicap,! I and the confidence of backers was amply jusJ lifted. After beginning well with Listening I rost, sho Tan about a lot, both dropping back. Fabrinad* was in front at the end of half a mile but tired, and Delight had the race in safe keeping. At the distance Bebehead and Little River came on together,: Bebehead staying the better of the pair. : Listening Post met with Interference which settled his fchance, but he finished on well. Caricature got off badly, and she finished a bad last. Delight gave a brilliant exhibl-1 tion, forcibly illustrating the old saying as to tho weight a good two-year-old can give away.

Hetaua was favorite for the Ynldhurst Welter Handicap, but as on the first day, he collapsed when the straight was reached. Clean Sweep, on whom G. Young had the mount In place of Ludlow, who rode him the first day, was In Trent practically from the rise of the barrier, and he won easily from Old Gold, who beiian slowly but finished well. Sleepy Head showed up for six furlonjs, and then faded out gradually. All Beady was left several lengths at the start and never got on terms ith the field. The winner Is an improviiiK horse of whom stl'l better things run be expected. The Great' Autumn Handicap drew a poor field, the withdrawal of Radial and Warlove leaving only sii competitors, hut they provided a fine contest, topped off by one of the best weight-carrying performances ever seen in an important distance race in the Dominion. Buttle Song, Warlike, and Niglitralder assisted to set the pace, but the flrst-named pair retired on reaching the straight. Nightnuder had a slight advantage at llie distance, hut Sasanof drew out and won. Kilmoon finished well, but Sasanof beat him comfortably by a length. Nightralder was a neck away, beating Sunart by a head. It was a stylish performance and the Martian gelding well deserved the plaudits that greeted him on his return to the scales. Mr W G Stead was sublimely confident and makes no secret of the fact that ho expects to beat •ek Trentham Gold Cop next]

A field of eleven hacks contested the Addlngton Handicap. Foo Chow was soon out in front, and he won with ridiculous ease. He is a half-brother to IM Gajna, and likelv to develop into a good one later on. It appeared to be a rough race, among tho sufferers being Satisfaction and Kilcalm, who fllied tho places, in addition to Adopted and Checkmate, the last-named pair being the first and second favorites, E. Lowe, the rider of Satisfaction, was suspended for the remainder ol the season for crossing There were only four starters for the Challenge Stakes. Amythas was a. hot favorite, and after attending Golden Bubble to the straight ho strolled home with ridiculous ease, while Golden Bubble beat Right and Left by a neck for second money. The performance of Amythas was that of a highclass horse, and not many better three-year-olds have raced in recent years. i Another field of four contested the Temple-' ton Handicap, which is frequently a poor race. Brackenfied and Chimera were evenly > backed, but the former had his chance settled by getting off badly. Bon led to the distance, when Chimera ran paat to win easily..

The meeting was concluded with the Pinal Handicap, for which Radial was a strong .avoritc. Early Dawn began smartly, and had a good lead to the straight. He staved on well enough to beat Radial, who was badly placed at the start Both, however, had to succumb to a late challenge from Sedd-el Bahr who paid a surprisingly big dividend in v»ew of his good performance in the Conrtenay Welter Handicap on the first day. borne Kid and Macduff were prominent at the entrance to the straight, but failed at the end.
